British Airways’ owner IAG has confirmed that it may launch a bid to buy Spanish carrier Vueling.
IAG, which already owns 45.85 per cent in Vueling, said that it was looking at making an offer for the other 54.15 per cent that it does not currently own.
The company said its board would be considering the move at a meeting later today (November 8).
“No decision to make an offer has yet been reached nor, accordingly, on any of its potential terms, including in particular the price,” said IAG in a statement.
“Further announcements will be made in due course when a decision is made.”
