German carrier Air Berlin has announced Helmut Weixler will take over the position of chief operating officer from August 1.
Weixler will replace outgoing COO Helmut Himmelreich who is leaving for personal reasons. He previously held various leadership positions at Air Berlin, between 2007 and 2011.
Air Berlin’s CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, said: “We are happy to be winning back an experienced airline manager for the company with Helmut Weixler, who will take responsibility in this crucial role for the continued positive development of the company and its operations.”
