Heathrow Airport’s customer satisfaction levels are at a record high, according to its end of year results published today.
The results showed 75 per cent of travellers at Heathrow rated their experience as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, this is compared to just 48 per cent in 2007.
Heathrow’s end of year figures also showed a record 72.3 million passengers passed through the airport in 2013, up 3.4 per cent on the previous year.
Heathrow’s CEO, Colin Matthews, said: “Heathrow performed strongly in 2013 with passenger satisfaction reaching record levels. The construction phase of Terminal 2 was completed and the opening in June will be another major step in the transformation of Heathrow.
“We also welcomed the Airports Commission’s interim report shortlisting our proposal for a third runway. We are now asking for views so we can refine our proposal to suit the needs of the UK and the needs of the local community.”
Heathrow is currently awaiting the decision from the Airports Commission whether it will be chosen for expansion to improve UK airport capacity. The decision is expected to be made in summer 2015.
