Heathrow Airport Holdings has appointed Michael Uzielli as chief financial officer.
Uzielli, currently Finance director for British Gas, has experience of the aviation industry having previously worked for British Airways as well as at Schroders.
He will succeed José Leo who leaves Heathrow at the end of March after eight years, having “transformed Heathrow's finances”.
Heathrow said Uzielli’s start date will be confirmed shortly.
Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye, said: "I am delighted that we have such a worthy successor to Jose Leo. Michael brings great experience and skills which will help us take Heathrow from being one of the best airports in Europe to be one of the best in the world."
Heathrow reported record passenger numbers for January as more businesses and politicians come out in support of its bid for airport expansion.
