Middle east airline Gulf Air and Indian carrier Jet Airways have entered into a codeshare agreement on flights between Bahrain and India.
From April 12, Gulf Air will put its ‘GF' flight code on Jet's daily services between Bahrain and Mumbai.
Jet's ‘9W' code will also be placed on Gulf Air's flights from Bahrain to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi and Thiruvanthapuram.
Samer Majali, Gulf Air's CEO, said the codeshare makes commercial sense for both carriers.
"The codeshare agreement with Jet Airways will enable both carriers to further leverage their respective networks," he said, "offering passengers enhanced connectivity, seamless transfers between flights, baggage checked-through to their final destination and a host of other."
Jet Airways currently flies to 42 domestic destinations and 22 international, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok and Kathmandu.
Gulf Air has a fleet of 35 aircraft connecting 43 cities in 28 countries
