Germanwings is to end flights between Birmingham and Berlin Tegel from the end of next month.
The airline, which is Lufthansa’s low-cost sister carrier, will end the service from August 31. Currently Germanwings flies four times per week from Birmingham to Berlin.
Germanwings only took over the route from Lufthansa in October 2013 as part of the group’s plan to migrate all short-haul flights, which are not travelling through the Lufthansa hubs of Frankfurt and Munich, to the low-cost brand.
Germanwings also currently flies from Birmingham to Hamburg.
