Flydubai has launched daily flights from Dubai to Moscow starting in September, the airline has confirmed.
The new route, which will be served by a B737-800 aircraft, will start during the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT).
Flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said: "We are pleased to announce the launch of direct flights to Russia's capital marking the airline’s commitment to one of its key markets.
"This new route will offer both business and leisure travellers greater choice when they travel between Dubai and Moscow."
The gulf carrier, which was launched in 2009, started direct flights to Dubai from the Russian cities of Samara and Yekaterinburg in 2010 and last year doubled its network in the country with four new destinations: Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov-on-Don and Volograd.
Last year Flydubai carried 6.82 million passengers and has reported two consecutive years of profitability, which included a 47 per cent increase in profit in 2013 over the previous year.
