Competition authorities in Finland have approved Flybe and Finnair’s acquisition of Finnish Commuter Airlines.
The formal approval means the two airlines can continue with their plans to develop Finnish Commmuter Airlines, to be renamed Flybe Nordic, into a leading regional airline.
Under the plans, Flybe Nordic will expand from Finland and in time commence operations in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia and Latvia.
Flybe Nordic will be jointly owned by Flybe and Finnair, with the former owning 60% and the latter 40% of the airline.
Flybe will take over the day to day operations of the new company.
