Finnair is to add on-board wifi to the majority of its aircraft in the next three years.
Finland’s national carrier announced that it plans to invest €30 million in equipping both its wide-body and narrow-body fleet with the technology.
It will first introduce wifi service this autumn, with the launch of its first A350 XWB aircraft.
In 2016 the airline will begin installing wifi on its long-haul A330s and its Airbus short-haul fleet. This roll-out is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
Finnair CEO Pekka Vauramo said: "This investment will enable us to offer a wide array of new services to customers, ranging from inflight entertainment to inflight sales and ancillaries."
