A website that tells travellers which flights to choose to maximize their frequent flier points has been launched in the US.
The site, 30k.com, claims to be the first travel search engine to display airfares side by side with the amount of earnable reward miles.
It is free to use but currently only gives details of points earned on American Airlines, Delta and United Airlines. The site allows travellers to detail their current point status and evaluate how many they need for an upgrade or reward. Fares are compared with the amount of earnable miles based on the traveller’s points balance.
"For the first time, travellers can see how many miles each flight earns before deciding which one to buy," said co-founder Alex Jawad.
The site also shows the best option for the user based on optimizing miles earned, price and duration. It will alert travellers when their miles or status are about to expire and detail mileage accrual when paying with a branded credit card.
