Etihad Airways and Garuda Indonesia have announced a range of new codeshare services.
Etihad’s EY code is now included on Garuda’s flights from Jakarta to Balikpapan, Denpasar, Makassar, Manado and Singapore, as well as between Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam.
Garuda Indonesia has also placed its GA code on Etihad Airways’ flights from Abu Dhabi to five new cities - Bahrain, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
Garuda will also increase the frequency of its Jakarta-Abu Dhabi-Amsterdam route from four to six times weekly from June 21, as well as adding a Jakarta to Perth route, which will operate with an EY code, from the same month.
Another move will see Etihad retime its Jakarta-Abu Dhabi flights from June 21 to offer better connectivity to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Etihad Airways’ CEO James Hogan said: “The partnership between Etihad Airways and Garuda Indonesia continues to develop in a mutually beneficial way, adding new destinations, improving connectivity, and offering new customer benefits.”
The two carriers signed an initial codeshare agreement in October 2012.
