Ethiopian Airlines has announced the start of four weekly flights to Vienna, Austria.
From June 2 the African carrier will operate the route on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The service will depart Addis Ababa airport at 0001 and arrive in Vienna at 0550 local time.
The return journey sees the flight depart Austria at 2310 and arrive in Ethiopia at 0705 local time.
The new service marks the ninth European city operated by the airline.
"We are very happy to spread our wings to Vienna, which is one of the most popular convention and conference centres in Europe,” said CEO Tewolde Gebremariam.
“Europe, which is still the largest trading partner of Africa, is an important region for us", he added.
Last month (May 24) Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of its seventh B787 Dreamliner.
The carrier, which was one of the first in the world outside of Japan to receive the aircraft, will take three more B787s later on this year.
