Emirates Airline is to double the frequency of its Dubai-Dublin service, according to reports in the Middle East.
The airline’s CEO, Sir Tim Clark, is reported to have made the announcement during an event marking the second anniversary of the route.
According to the reports, the Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny, who is on a trade mission in the Middle East, attended the ceremony.
The second daily flight from the Irish capital will be introduced from September.
Almost half a million passengers have flown on the service since its inception, according to the airline.
In 2013 the number of Irish visiting Dubai increased by 14% year on year, according to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing .
