Easyjet has launched five new services from London Gatwick airport.
The airline will operate flights to Brussels, Paris, Jersey, Newcastle and Strasbourg for the first time from March 30.
The no-frills carrier announced in November last year it would serve Brussels and Strasbourg using slots purchased from Flybe.
Easyjet has also doubled its frequency on services between Gatwick and Inverness with the launch of the airline’s first evening flight between the two destinations.
Easyjet expects the new routes to boost its passenger numbers from Gatwick by five per cent and continue its “ongoing commitment” to providing “key business links throughout Europe”.
The airline’s commercial manager, Hugh Aitken, said: “By adding European cities like Brussels, Paris and Strasbourg, Easyjet can ensure business travellers using Gatwick have convenient and affordable links to key cities.”
London Gatwick’s CCO, Guy Stephenson, said: “Gatwick and Easyjet together are showing there are more options now to travel on business, with a combination based on quality of service and affordable fares.
“This summer Gatwick will serve 45 of the top 50 European business routes,” he added.
