Technology firm Amadeus has launched a new enhanced system for business travel agents to book Easyjet flights through its GDS.
The new ‘Light ticketing’ service is designed to give TMCs and their clients better access to fares and ancillaries through a link between the Amadeus and Easyjet systems.
Amadeus said the aim of the system was to increase Easyjet’s business travel bookings through TMCs and companies by “offering the same look and feel as for traditional or flag carriers”.
Andrew Hodges, Easyjet’s director for sales, distribution and business, said: “Easyjet’s aim is to deliver value and efficiency to business travel agents and their corporate clients by making it easier to search, book and sell Easyjet’s flights.
“Working with travel agents in the most effective way is fundamental to our strategy of servicing the higher-yield business travel market and our move to become a light ticketing carrier within Amadeus is a key step in driving adoption and bookings from agents.”
Amadeus said that the new system allows agents to use “standard pricing workflows” and the ability to modify Easyjet PNRs for flights and services in the same way as with a full-service airline.
David Doctor, head of distribution marketing for Amadeus, said: “By enhancing and standardising the booking flow for light ticketing carriers, travel agents will be able to process bookings more efficiently, which will drive greater adoption.”
Earlier this month, Easyjet launched a new “inclusive fare” for business travellers which can only be booked through B2B channels.
