All Nippon Airways has admitted that the return of its grounded Dreamliners “remains unclear” as investigations go on into the problems with the aircraft’s batteries.
The eight airlines operating Boeing 787s grounded all of the aircraft two weeks ago because of safety fears relating to its onboard battery system which caught fire on two aircraft within a few days.
ANA, which is the biggest operator of Dreamliners with 17 aircraft in its fleet, said it would lose around £10 million from the grounding of the aircraft in January.
“Due to the grounding of the Boeing 787, a total of 459 domestic and international flights were cancelled in the month of January,” said ANA in a statement. “It remains unclear as to when the aircraft will resume normal service.”
