Delta will add a third daily service to its Heathrow-Atlanta route from March 31, and passengers will also be able to access wifi internet on the route from early 2013.
The US carrier moved its daily Gatwick-Atlanta service to Heathrow earlier this year, and currently operates a twice-daily service between the two airports.
Delta will add a third frequency from March 31, 2013, with departures from London at 09.45, 12.50 and 14.25, and from Atlanta at 17.55, 21.35 and 22.45.
In June, Delta announced plans to install wifi capabilities on long-haul services from early next year, and now says it will become the first carrier to offer wifi on non-stop flights between the UK and the United States.
There has also been speculation this week that Delta is looking to bid for Singapore Airlines' 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic.
