CONCORDE could be coming to the end of its days? British Airways has confirmed that the future of the supersonic aircraft is under review. First flown in 1969 (the same year as the Boeing 747 first flew and the Hawker Harrier went into front line service) the aircraft currently only operates a daily (except Saturday) single return flight to New York, where it changes crew, and a seasonal weekly service to Barbados. At its heyday Concorde flew twice daily to JFK with a single flight direct to Washington. Two of the seven BA Concorde have been mothballed. Although BA does not have to worry about depreciation Concorde is an expensive aircraft to operate in terms of engineering, fuel and crewing. http://www.ba.com
