Romanian airline Carpatair is to introduce flights this winter from Luton to Chisinau in Moldova.
The twice-weekly service will begin on December 19 and will operate on Thursday and Sunday using a 148-seat Boeing 737-300.
Carpatair, which is based in Timisoara in western Romania, will operate the twice-weekly flights until March 27, 2014, and then plans to increase the frequency for the summer 2014 season.
It will be the second service between a London airport and Chisinau – Air Moldova switched its flights to the city from Gatwick to Stansted in April. This service currently operates twice per week.
