British Airways is reintroducing its full long-haul business class service on Friday (28 October) after limiting it in 2020 to reduce interaction between travellers and cabin staff following the outbreak of Covid-19.
The return to full service in Club World will include new seasonal menus that champion British cuisine, where each course is individually served. During the pandemic, the carrier had restricted its dining service to cold food options served in boxes and removed all glassware.
According to the carrier the return of the ‘premium dining experience’ follows improved service across its first, short-haul business and premium economy cabins as part of ongoing efforts to improve its product proposition.
British Airways head of onboard experience, Sajida Ismail, said: “It’s incredibly important that when we brought our full service back, it exceeded our customers’ expectations. We have taken time to ensure that we are offering a premium brasserie-style dining experience that not only tastes good, but one that our crew feel confident in delivering.”
He added the carrier had received "great feedback” after introducing new menus and reinstating service to other travel classes earlier this year. This includes hot soup, poured chair side, in first class, more generous servings for short-haul business class flights, and a hot meal served in the economy cabin.
The carrier also plans to reintroduce its express service on evening flights, where travellers can request a one tray service for “a quick bite” before settling down to sleep, and continues to roll out its new business class product, Club Suite, across its Boeing 777 fleet.
