Bmi Regional has announced three new routes from Birmingham airport to Gothenburg, Lyon and Toulouse.
The newly-independent carrier will operate six flights per week on all three routes, starting on May 13. The new routes will go on sale on Tuesday February 5.
There are currently no direct, non-stop flights from Birmingham to Gothenburg, Lyon or Toulouse, although Flybe has also announced it will fly between Birmingham and Lyon from May 1. Monarch Airlines and Easyjet also both fly from Birmingham to Grenoble-Isere airport, which is located around 75 km from Lyon.
Bmi Regional launched as an independent carrier at the end of October 2012 and is the only part of Bmi to survive following the purchase by British Airways’ owner IAG.
The carrier currently serves routes including Manchester to Edinburgh, Glasgow to Copenhagen, East Midlands to Brussels and Norwich to Aberdeen, and recently announced new routes from Bristol to Hamburg and Frankfurt.
