Blue 1 will drop its twice-daily flights between London Heathrow and Helsinki from October 29.
The SAS subsidiary added a second daily flight to its Heathrow-Helsinki route in April 2010, but says that the service is no commercially viable.
The main reason was “a lack of opportunities to improve the timetable at Heathrow”. SAS currently codeshares on the route.
Other airlines flying between Heathrow and the Finnish capital include Finnair and BA (with the Oneworld carriers codesharing on each other’s flights). Norwegian serves Helsinki from London Gatwick.
