Bmi has confirmed it will launch its own Heathrow-Berlin route on March 28, with a four-times daily service including a 2-2 layout business class.
The carrier already plies the route on a wet-lease agreement on behalf of Lufthansa, but from the end of March it will take over the service, increasing frequency from three to four-times daily and offering a two-class cabin on its A319 aircraft, with a 2-2 configuration in business class (the middle seat being kept free).
Business class passengers will benefit from "hot food with a British twist served on all flights, and a fully stocked bar service", and passengers in economy will also receive a complimentary food service including a hot breakfast.
The "new" route is part of the relaunch of Bmi's two-class economy and business product on its continental European flights, which differs from the economy and flexible economy product now offered on the carrier's short-haul flights.
