AURIGNY AIR SERVICES, has ensured that FLyBe will not be left solo on the Gatwick ” Guernsey route following British Airways decision to drop its services. The long established Channel Islands-based airline will begin operating services on Monday, 16 June 2003, the day after BA pulls out. Aurigny plans to operate three return flights per day during the summer schedule, using a 66-seat ATR72 ” the same aircraft type currently operated on the route by BA. The airline is also looking to increase frequency to four return services a day from the start of the winter timetable. Under an arrangement with BA, passengers already booked to travel between Guernsey and Gatwick after 16 June will be given the option of transferring to the new flights. The Gatwick service is the fifth new UK route Aurigny has added to its regional network since 1999. The airline also operates daily flights between Guernsey and Stansted, Manchester, East Midlands, Bristol, as well as inter-island services between Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney. http://www.aurigny.com
