Pakistan airline Air Blue is to launch flights from Birmingham airport from next month.
Air Blue, which is Pakistan’s second largest airline, will operate twice weekly services from Birmingham to Lahore, via Islamabad, starting on September 28. The airline already flies from Manchester to Lahore and Islamabad.
The Birmingham flights will use a 342-seat Airbus A340 and will operate on Wednesday and Saturday.
Pakistan International Airlines already flies from Birmingham to Islamabad four times per week.
Martyn Lloyd, Birmingham’s commercial director, said: “More than 200,000 British Pakistanis live in the West Midlands so we’re really pleased to be able to announce these new flights, which will give business and leisure passengers even more choice from Birmingham to Pakistan.”
Wednesday flights will arrive at Birmingham at 20.15 and then depart at 22.30. The Saturday service will arrive at 21.25 and depart at 23.30.
Fares from Birmingham to Lahore start at £466 for a return ticket including taxes.
