Kazakhstani carrier Air Astana will test the International Air Transport Association's Travel Pass app on flights between Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, and Istanbul next month.
Passengers will be able to upload and manage Covid-19 test results and other required health information in the app and also look up locations approved for testing. Air Astana's trial will run from 2 September through to 16 September.
“The IATA Travel Pass will greatly contribute to the resumption of international air travel, with the application significantly simplifying the organisation flights,” said Air Astana vice president, Alexander Neboga. ”This process delivers considerable convenience to passengers, reduces time for ground services and staff contact, as well as heightening identification of fake PCR certificates and vaccinations.”
The airline recently announced the resumption of flights between London Heathrow and Nur-Sultan from 18 September and the introduction of new 'throne' seats within its business class cabin.
