Afriqiyah Airways has resumed its non-stop service between Gatwick and Tripoli, operating three times-weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Along with British Airways and Bmi, the Libyan carrier cancelled flights last year following the outbreak of political unrest in the country.
The relaunched flights depart Tripoli at 08.30, arriving into Gatwick at 11.00, with the return leg leaving the London airport at 12.30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving at 17.00.
BA also resumed its Heathrow-Tripoli route in May, but Bmi’s short-lived service (it had originally launched flights just a week before the outbreak of unrest in February 2011) did not relaunch due to the purchase of the carrier by BA’s parent company IAG.
