Yotel is set to bring its Yotelpad extended stay brand to Europe for the first time when it opens three properties in the Lake Geneva region starting in 2020.
The company says Lake Geneva was the ‘natural’ choice to debut Yotelpad in Europe due to its “unusually high proportion of global organisations”, which makes it a popular destination for business travellers.
The three Yotelpad properties will feature 483 rooms and will be located 15 minutes from the Geneva and Lausanne city centres in Plan-les-Ouates (118 keys), Etoy (212 Pads) and Pregny-Chambesy (108 rooms).
Yotelpad’s design arranges Yotel’s SmartBed, free wifi, storage space, a kitchenette, bathroom and adaptable work and dining areas within a space of 30sqm. Guests also have access to facilities such as public areas and a 24/7 health club, as well as meeting and co-working spaces.
In addition, Yotelpad properties offer regular community-focused events to network and socialise, as well as Grab+Go healthy food options and pay-as-you-go services such as housekeeping, laundry and transportation.
Hubert Viriot, CEO of Yotel, said: “Unsurprisingly, demand for affordable, short-term lease options is very high, yet housing stock is limited and local tenancy laws typically require long-term commitments. As a result, there is a high proportion of frustrated demand, either overpaying for residential accommodation or staying at traditional hotels in the Geneva and Lausanne city centres, miles from the business zones where MNCs and NGOs are typically located. Our Yotelpads will be located minutes from the actual demand, considerably cutting down on commuting hours on the A1 highway.”
The Plan-les-Ouates and Etoy properties are due to open in 2020, while Pregny will open in 2021.
