Travelodge has announced it will open 19 hotels in 2016, with an investment value of £140 million.
The expansion is expected to create 450 new jobs and increase the company’s network to 542 hotels.
The new properties include key business locations including London, Glasgow and Bristol.
In addition to the 2016 openings, the company has identified 250 further locations for Travelodge development in the UK.
It has announced its first three new hotel signings of the year, with agreements signed to build and open hotels at: London Acton, London Wood Green and Oxford.
Travelodge CEO Peter Gowers said: “Our recently completed £100 million hotel modernisation programme has raised quality levels and led to strong growth from business customers to complement our traditional strength in leisure travel.
“We now see opportunity for hotels in 250 further locations across the UK and with early positive development momentum at the start of 2016, we are well positioned to deliver further strong growth in the years ahead,” he added.
