InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open its third Indigo hotel in Atlanta in a mixed-use development in downtown College Park, scheduled for summer 2009.
Hotel Indigo Atlanta College Park ” one of the brand”s first new-builds, and owned by Parkside Developers ” will offer 142 rooms, 24hr business centre, meeting space for corporate functions and special events, and wireless high-speed internet throughout.
The group claims it will be the closest hotel to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Georgia International Convention Centre. Located at the intersection of Harvard and Washington Streets in part of the new Princeton Village development, it will also be just a block from College Park station on the city”s MARTA rail system.
”We know our guests will find the Indigo to be a relaxing and refreshing alternative to the traditional airport hotel,” said Parkside Developers president Mahesh Patel.
Several key businesses are within driving distance, including Boeing”s pilot training facility, Delta Airlines” headquarters, and the Federal Aviation Authority.
”We are pleased to be a part of the resurgence of downtown College Park,” said IHG senior vice president franchise development in the Americas, Jim Anhut. ”Atlanta is the birthplace of the Hotel Indigo brand.”
And the brand is quickly expanding throughout North America, with 15 open and a further 60 under development, either in the pipeline or final negotiation stages.
