Supercity Aparthotels has purchased two properties in the south-east as part of its expansion plans.
The company has applied for planning permission to redevelop a site in London’s Chancery Lane, which if granted will be transformed into a new complex housing around 50 suites, a gym and serviced offices as well as an existing pub on the site.
Supercity, which currently operates three properties in London, hopes to open the Chancery Lane suites in 2016 and will be targeting sectors such as finance and law.
The second property in Watford will offer extended-stay serviced apartments and is due to open in autumn 2015. It will feature 19 studios and 22 one-bedroom suites.
Alexis Burton, Supercity’s managing director, said: “These new acquisitions are testament to the success and hard work of the Supercity Aparthotels team.
“With growing understanding and demand for aparthotels amongst business travellers and tourists alike, we’re delighted to be growing and complimenting our existing portfolio in and around London.”
