Luxury hotel group Shangri-la will open its hotel inside London’s The Shard tower in May, the company has announced.
It will be the Hong Kong-based hotel group’s third in Europe, following properties in Paris and Istanbul.
The 202-room hotel will open its doors to guests on May 6 with rates starting at £450 a night and rising as high as £3,250 a night for a suite.
As a result of The Shard's spiral shape, each guestroom and suite, which range from 30 sqm to 188 sqm, is individual in layout and design.
All will feature floor-to-ceiling windows with unrivalled views across the city, marble-clad bathrooms with heated floors, separate bathtubs, Acqua di Parma amenities and mirrors with integrated television screens. Over a third of bathrooms will have city views.
The hotel will also contain a bar on the 52nd floor, two restaurants, a 24-hour gym and London's highest infinity pool.
Greg Dogan, Shangri-La president and CEO, said: "Our continued expansion in Europe reflects the growth opportunities for the brand and portfolio.
"The Shard is a landmark synonymous with London and we hope to encourage visitors to our hotel, and the surrounding area."
