Shangri-La Hotels has announced the next wave of properties in Asia Pacific that will be rebranded as ‘Hotel Jen’.
In 2014, the hotel group unveiled its new international brand which would replace the mid-scale range Trader Hotels – Jen Hotels are designed with a “millennial mindset” targeting the younger traveller with more “contemporary and lifestyle” focus.
The first Jen hotel was the Orchard Gateway in Singapore followed by Hong Kong, Brisbane, Penang and Beijing.
The first of the new hotels to be rebranded is the Tanglin Singapore following a SGD45 million refurbishment.
The 565-room hotel includes free wifi throughout, club lounge on the 17th floor and restaurant focusing on south east Asian cuisine. It’s located 25-minute drive from Changi airport and offers a free shuttle service into the central business district.
The property features a ‘Heart Map’ where guests can share their travelling tips and recommend places to visit in the area.
Clifford Weiner, general manager of Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore said: “I love the energy at the new hotel.
“It offers a lot of value for travellers who appreciate the ingenious details done well – stylish and comfy rooms, enthusiastic and upbeat staff, convenience and accessibility.
“As well as offering travellers greater flexibility to blend the boundaries between business and leisure, Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore is pioneering in their support of small and local businesses – as well as showcasing upcoming brands from the local F&B scene,” he said.
