InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open its second Hotel Indigo property at the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.
Scheduled for early 2009 - after the other smaller Indigo branded property opens at The Alamo later this year - the Riverwalk hotel is a conversion of a Hawthorn Suites, and will be located five blocks from downtown and half a mile from the newly-renovated Henry B. Gonzalez Convention centre.
It will offer 149 rooms ” all suites - and feature a 24hr business centre, two meeting rooms for functions or events and wireless high-speed internet connection throughout.
”The branded boutique style of Hotel Indigo will allow us to offer our guests at both properties the conveniences of a branded hotel and the service personality of a boutique property,” said IHG senior vice president franchise development Jim Anhut.
The property is owned by RW Hotel Associates and will be managed by Trans Inns Management under a license agreement with IHG.
”During the past 24 months Trans Inns has organised the acquisition of nine additional properties representing more than $100m of hotel assets, and we expect to acquire an equal amount in 2008,” said Trans Inns Management president and CEO Daniel Vosotas.
There are currently 15 Hotel Indigo properties open in North America, and around 60 more under development ” including ones in London, Miami and New York.
