German hotel group Ruby has opened its first hotel in Switzerland, the Ruby Mimi in Zurich.
Located on Beatenplatz in the heart of the city, the hotel has 208 guestrooms across seven floors, a restaurant, bar and private cinema. It has six different room categories with average rates ranging from €200 to €220 per night.
“The Swiss market, especially Zurich, offers great potential for our ‘lean luxury’ philosophy - a luxury accommodation experience at an affordable price in a prime location", said Daniella Boeken, group vice president commercial at Ruby.
The group, founded in 2013, operates 12 hotels – predominantly in Germany but also in the UK and Austria – and has a further 19 under construction or in the planning phase.
“We accommodate our luxury in a relatively small area and simply leave out the non-essentials,” said Michael Struck, Ruby founder and CEO, of the group’s ethos.
“We plan and build more modularly, centralise more and automate consistently behind the scenes. This helps us to make a luxurious and unique hotel experience affordable for our guests.”
