STANSTED AIRPORT is to have a new 500-room hotel. Rezidor SAS, in conjunction with BAA Lynton, the commercial property development arm of BAA Plc, has been granted planning permission from Uttlesford District Council for a new Radisson SAS hotel at Stansted Airport. Construction will shortly be underway for a 500 room, four-star hotel, with pedestrian access to the newly extended passenger terminal building. Completion is anticipated in early 2004. The hotel is to be built in two phases ” 350 rooms in phase one, followed by an additional 150 rooms in phase two. The hotel forms part of the Carlson ” Radisson ” SAS partnership announced last week.
