Redfern has launched a campaign to recognise the UK hotels that meet the needs of solo female travellers.
The travel management company said many hotels are “falling short” on offering the right safety and security options for solo female travellers.
“SOLO is an awards campaign designed to recognise the hotels that are getting things right,” said Redfern business development director, Kate Wimpeney. “Whether that’s through processes designed to ensure lone female traveller safety, awareness of the challenges that women might face when working away or staff that go the extra mile to make travelling for work as comfortable and easy as possible.”
“This isn’t about fluffy robes and fancy hand cream, as nice as they are. This is about the hotels that are actively taking on the challenge of making sure all women feel safe and comfortable when they travel for work.”
Female travellers are invited to nominate hotels via a form on the Redfern website. Anyone who submits a nomination will be entered into a draw to win a spa break for two at one of Q Hotels’ 22 spa hotels based around the UK.
A shortlist will be drawn up from the nominations and judges will then review those shortlisted using a ‘mystery shopping’ exercise. The winner will be announced in March.
