Putting Bolton on the map

Conference venue and hotel company, M61 Group, relaunches its website.

M61 Group, the conference venues and hotels company based in the north west, has relaunched its website.

The M61 Group represents ten international hotel chains, meeting venues and the Bolton Arena, all of which are close to the M61 motorway.

The relaunched site allows visitors to interact more than before. Visitors to the site can subscribe to the group”s new newsletter, request callbacks and take advantage of web offers.

As well as the new features, the site”s old features have been improved. There”s now a direct link to the group”s venue enquiry form, which has been redesigned to be clearer and more user-friendly. The contact page has also been simplified ” it”s now shorter, so it”s quicker for visitors to fill in.

The site now has more images than before, and a map and revolving images on the homepage. The new site also shows the group”s new logo, which changed from last year”s M61 Meetings to M61 Group.

Nick White, head of tourism at Bolton Council and chairman of the M61 Group, said: ”I”m really pleased with our new website. The layout and navigation system is completely user-friendly. Given that our venue finding service is free of charge, I hope the new functionality of the website will encourage more businesses to try our service. We”ve also made a commitment to ensure that enquiries made via the site are responded to within eight-hours.”

ABTN tested this claim and the group passed the test ” we received a response within two minutes.

The M61 Group has 1,000 bedrooms and over 130 meeting suites suitable for 10,000 guests. The group helps plan events, meetings, team-building activities as well as book accommodation and arrange hospitality.

In April, two of the M61 Group”s venues won awards at the Manchester Tourism Awards 2008. Smithills Hall in Bolton beat seven other venues in the category of small visitor attraction of year and the Marriott Worsley Park Hotel and Country Club competed against 11 other venues and won the large hotel of the year award. Judges included representatives from Manchester Airport, Manchester Art Gallery, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool”s tourist board.
