Premier Inn has announced it will open its first property of the Isle of Man next month.
Due to open on 24 June, the Premier Inn Douglas (Isle of Man) is located on Market Street in the island’s capital town and will offer 85 rooms over six floors, along with a Thyme restaurant.
Richard Aldread, head of construction for the UK and Ireland regions for parent company Whitbread, commented: “It’s always exciting to hand over a brand-new Premier Inn hotel to our operations team. In Douglas, it is especially significant as it’s our first hotel on the Isle of Man.
“To get us to this stage Whitbread has made a significant multi-million pound investment in the new hotel and restaurant building and we expect it will trade very well given the island’s strong business and leisure economy. With the building now complete, we’re looking forward to opening the doors, welcoming guests and bringing a different style of accommodation to the island.”
The news comes after Flybe launched a new route between Heathrow and the Isle of Man in April, marking its return to its re-opened base on the island and the first direct flight for nearly 20 years.
