Accor”s luxury hotel brand, Sofitel, is to announce the opening of The Palace, The Old Town at this year”s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai from 1-4 May. The new hotel is the second of the brand in the city, following the Sofitel City Centre Hotel and residence Dubai.
”We will be participating exclusively and for the first time at the ATM this year,” said The Palace general manager, Jean-Philippe Bittencourt. ”We anticipate a very successful first ATM and are excited about establishing ourselves as a symbol of the region”s luxury hospitality.”
Luxurious it certainly is, with 242 rooms and suites that feature balconies and direct views over the Burj Dubai Lake and The Old Town Island. A butler is assigned to every room, there are guest relation services on each floor, limousine services to and from the airport and city locations, as well as wireless internet in all rooms.
The 81 suites have apartments ranging from 700 to more than 1,000sq ft (213-305sq m) and the Imperial Suite boasts four apartments on two floors ” covering 5,000sq ft in total.
The Palace forms the centrepiece to the recently developed Downtown Burj Dubai by Emaar Properties, which features the city”s tallest building and myriad residential properties and shopping facilities.
