Oakwood has announced the signing of two new Suites properties in Bangkok and Yokohama, expanding the brand’s exclusive portfolio.
The Bangkok property is due to open by the end of this year, while the Yokohama residences, owned by Oakwood’s parent company Mapletree Investments, will open in mid-2020.
The company launched its Suites product in December 2016 with the opening of Oakwood Suites La Maison Jakarta. The portfolio is targeted at senior executives, with an emphasis on prime locations within central commercial districts throughout Asia Pacific.

Located in the Phrom Phong district, the new Bangkok property is in close proximity to the city’s central business area. It will offer 232 studios, one and two-bedroom apartments.
Meanwhile, the Yokohama property is the brand’s 12th in Japan and will feature 175 apartments occupying levels 46 to 51 of the Tower Kitanaka, the largest and tallest residential building in the city. It will offer direct access to the Bashamichi train station, which provides a journey time of 30 minutes to Tokyo.

Oakwood Suites Yokohama will be our second Mapletree-owned serviced apartment in Japan, following Oakwood Apartments Azabudai, Tokyo. As part of our business strategy, Mapletree will continue to pursue opportunities to develop and acquire assets, and bring the Oakwood brand to global markets.”
The company recently opened an office in Beijing to serve companies in the country and across the Asia Pacific region.
