NOVOTEL, the French hotel group, has opened its first four star property in the UK with the re-branding of the former Bernard Shaw Park Plaza Hotel. Now called the Novotel London Euston the 312 bedroom property is situated next door to the British Library in Euston Road within very easy walking distance of Euston, St Pancras (the London termini for Eurostar from 2007) and Kings Cross Stations. The new owners have quickly got their act together in what is a fast developing area very short of quality hotel accommodation. All the rooms are of good size, well equipped and some offering stupendous views over London and up towards Hampstead Heath. Integrated into the building is the distinctive 466 seat Shaw Theatre, ideal for conference, presentations, major corporate events and theatrical productions. A second conference and meeting room can comfortably accommodate up to 450 for a reception or 250 for a dinner dance and there are a further 14 meeting/conference rooms of various size. Just by reception the Mirrors Restaurant is fully up to west end standard and should become popular not only with residents but for those searching for a quality dining place near to three of London”s most important main line railway stations. All rooms are internet connected and the top six floors are given over to executive use including a private lounge. There is a health club located on the 5th floor and also a small business centre.
