Nobu Hospitality has announced it will open its second hotel in London in spring 2020.
The brand – launched by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper – will take over the existing Radisson Blu Portman Square in the city’s West End (pictured). According to Business Traveller, the current property’s reservations team has confirmed the hotel will close on 18 April.
The hotel will feature 239 guest rooms and suites, as well as a Nobu restaurant, a ballroom and meeting facilities. The redesign of the property is being led by David Collins Studio in conjunction with Make Architects.
Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is owned by London + Regional Hotels and is the company’s third collaboration with Nobu Hospitality, including the brand’s properties in Ibiza and Monte Carlo.
Nobu currently operates a 148-room hotel in London’s Shoreditch, along with three restaurants around the capital. It has also announced it will open a property in Warsaw in spring 2020.
CEO Trevor Horwell said: “We are truly proud to announce the launch of Nobu Hotel London Portman Square with our trusted partners London + Regional Hotels. This will be our third Nobu destination together with London + Regional Hotels and sets another stage for creating memorable experiences around food and hospitality. 2019 is an exciting year of Nobu Hotel openings – from Barcelona [and] Los Cabos to Chicago.”
