Movenpick Hotel Zurich-Airport has completed a four-year, $24.7m (£12.5m) renovation project to bring it up to the five-star rating standard of Hotellerie Suisse.
Initial upgrades involved renovation to the hotel”s exterior and roof, as well as the installation of sound-proof windows in all guestrooms. A new forecourt with canopy roof was added, where guests can wait for the free airport shuttle bus departing every 20 minutes.
Entrance to the hotel is now through a glass carousel door that leads through to the fully refurbished lobby and reception area. A business corner, crew lounge for airline staff and fitness centre have also been added and the bar and restaurant have been modernised.
Suites and executive rooms are now available on the 10th floor and the 170 Superior Rooms (30sq m/98.4sq ft) have been remodelled. All these rooms are equipped with flat-screen TV and free broadband internet access.
Banqueting and conference facilities have been redesigned to include 13 modular meeting rooms for up to 400 delegates, all fitted with the latest technology. Public wireless LAN is available and throughout all public areas of the hotel.
”We”re delighted that the renovation work is now completed and that we”re able to offer our guests five-star service and quality standards in the immediate vicinity of Zurich Airport,” said general manager, Ren” Singeisen.
”The renovations were not restricted to the guest areas only, but also extended behind the scenes: new measures in keeping with fire regulations are now in place and new safety and communication systems have been installed.”
