The May Fair Hotel in London has become the first property in London to join the Radisson Collection by Radisson Hotel Group.
The announcement coincides with a ten-year extension to a partnership agreement between Radisson Hotel Group and Edwardian Hotels London, which owns and operates the May Fair Hotel and 11 Radisson Blu Edwardian properties.
Radisson Collection, the group's portfolio of luxury lifestyle hotels, also includes a newly opened property in Warsaw.
Opened in 1927 on the site of Devonshire House on Stratton Street, the hotel has been popular with celebrities and royalty. It was once owned by film and television producers the Danziger brothers. Today the property is considered a boutique destination.
The hotel offers 37 suites and more than 400 guest rooms, along with a spa and gym, 11 meeting and event spaces, the May Fair Kitchen, May Fair Bar and May Fair Terrace for dining and drinks.
Federico J Gonzalez-Tejera, president and CEO of Radisson Hospitality AB and chairman of the Radisson Hotel Group global steering committee, said: “We are immensely proud to welcome an iconic hotel like the May Fair Hotel into the Radisson Collection family and we are thrilled to have further extended our strategic partnership with Edwardian Hotels London for an additional ten years, taking us through to 2063.”
Jasminder Singh OBE, chairman and CEO of Edwardian Hotels London, added: “I am delighted that the May Fair Hotel has been recognised as London’s first hotel in the Radisson Collection and we look forward to the next phase of our long-standing strategic partnership with Radisson Hotel Group. This is testament to our unwavering commitment to guest service and is recognition of the May Fair Hotel’s preeminent position in the UK’s competitive luxury hotel market.”
