Hotel giant Marriott International is to open its first property in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a Residence Inn in Sarajevo due to open next year.
The 75-suite extended-stay property is scheduled to open in late 2014 and will be the first internationally-branded hotel in the former Yugoslav region.
Amy McPherson, managing director for Marriott International in Europe, said: “We are expanding our footprint in eastern Europe and look forward to opening our first hotel in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“An as evolving business destination, Sarajevo is a perfect fit for our Residence Inn brand.”
Residence Inn has 600 properties in the US, Canada, Europe, Middle East and central America. The brand opened its first UK property in Edinburgh last year.
