Following ‘success’ in London, Marriott International has announced it will expand its homesharing pilot to include Paris, Rome and Lisbon.
Customers can now book more than 340 properties across the four European markets with the ability to earn and redeem points on Marriott’s loyalty platform, which includes Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG). Residences range in size and design.
The Tribute Portfolio Homes brand was launched in the UK capital in collaboration with home rentals management company Hostmaker. During the five-month trial, Marriott International says it found that travellers were drawn to the offering by a “curated selection of homes, ease of booking and service level”.
During the pilot, Marriott also found that guests stayed on average two times longer than the average hotel stay, with guests reporting they were looking for more space when booking residences.
Adam Malamut, chief customer experience officer at Marriott International, commented: “Following the positive customer feedback from our pilot in London, we are excited to extend Tribute Portfolio Homes to new markets together with Hostmaker.”
Nakul Sharma, CEO and founder of Hostmaker, added: “We are very excited to bring Hostmaker’s experience of operating in Paris, Lisbon and Rome to Tribute Portfolio Homes. These brilliant destinations were the natural next step for a European expansion, and we can’t wait to welcome guests into our homes.”
