Marriott International has created a network of its European hotels which specialise in holding major events and conferences.
The European Convention Network (ECN) features 14 Marriott properties across the continent, including the Grosvenor House hotel in London, which hosts the Business Travel Awards every January.
The network includes a range of Marriott brands including Renaissance, AC Hotels and the Autograph Collection of independent hotels based in “key gateway cities” in Europe.
Other hotels include: Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Centre, Frankfurt Marriott Hotel, Rome Marriott Park Hotel, Berlin Marriott Hotel, JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel and AC Hotels Barcelona Forum.
ECN has been modelled on the longstanding Marriott International Convention and Resort Network in the US, which has been operating for some 25 years.
The move means that there will be a single point of contact for the 14 ECN venues, which all have at least 350 rooms and 2,500 square metres of meeting space.
Pauline Bronkhorst, head of ECN said: “The launch of the European Convention Network brings together the scale of Marriott Europe’s meetings and events capabilities with a simplified and personal approach which puts the meeting and events planner at the heart of the process.
“Our customers have told us they want to save time when planning large annual or bi-annual events in different cities by having one account manager that works with them regularly and understands their business.”
Marriott announced earlier this week that it would double its size in Europe, as a result of its merger with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
