MARRIOTT HOTELS, in the form of chairman and chief executive officer J.W. Marriott Jr, has confirmed its commitment to London as one of its key global hubs.
At a ceremony marking the take-over of the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, Mr Marriott said, ”We're excited by London's upbeat tempo and the fact that the city's visitor arrivals share is beginning to move in a positive direction again.”
He was in London to review plans for the multi-million-pound restoration of the Grosvenor House as well as to inspect progress on the soon-to-open 301-room London Marriott West India Quay and the 47-apartment Marriott Executive Apartments West India Quay.
While details are still being finalised, Mr. Marriott said that the restoration programme for the Grosvenor House would be completed by early 2007 including the addition of 48 new guest rooms.
