Marriott Wardman Park has undergone a comprehensive renovation following $100m investment by its owner The JBG Companies.
Located in the business area of Washington DC and close to the national airport, the property is the largest convention hotel in the city with 1,316 guest rooms and 195,000 sq ft (1,812 sq m) of flexible convention and exhibition space.
Guestrooms in the hotel have been refurbished and will include 32-inch high-definition LG plasma screen televisions. They have connections meaning guests can plug in their laptops and the television screen can be split so they can watch TV while checking their e-mail or browsing the internet.
Renovations have also given the meeting rooms, lobbies and restaurant and bar a new look.
The hotel”s 195,000 sq ft meeting and exhibition space is comprised of a 95,000 sq ft exhibition hall, 30,000 sq ft ballroom, 49 flexible smaller rooms and two private executive boardrooms. The new Thurgood Marshall Ballroom offers 10,000 sq ft space for high-end social events. Wi-Fi internet connection and audiovisual facilities are available in all meeting rooms.
In addition, guests can use the new 3,000 sq ft fitness centre which includes state-of-the-art equipment, plus saunas and steam rooms.
”From the guestrooms, the new meeting space, the new fitness centre and all the upgrades, guests will notice the difference the moment they enter the hotel,” said Marriott Wardman Park general manager Edward Rudzinski.
